Children of a Greater God

Children of a Greater God
As a man who has experienced and witnessed many miraculous healings over the years - including
the healing of an incurable spinal disease in my own body - I read a great deal and listen intently
to testimonies regarding others who have received and even lost their healing. One area that has
always intrigued me is the many miracles that are reported in 3rd world, persecuted churches in
contrast to those reported in these United States. I have always chalked our lack of Divine Healings
up to a lack of faith, a faith limited by our doctrinal teachings and denominational programming.
In addition, with the finest medicine, physicians and surgeons money can buy - and the insurance
to help pay for it - overall, we aren’t as desperate for a touch from Jesus as others seem to be. An
African with a huge tumor on her neck is desperate to know Jesus as Healer whereas an American
in the same situation may sit in church week after week and never once entertain the notion of
having the elders lay hands upon her and anoint her with oil. If she WERE so bold, many elders
would scramble, not even sure what kind of oil they were supposed to use.
People in 3rd world nations have a strong belief in the supernatural. They have great faith in the
many gods they serve. We might refer to these false gods as demons but, in reality, to those in
underdeveloped nations, they are as much deity as Jesus is to us. In many instances, these people
have been serving their false gods for generations. When a Christian minister comes along and
introduces them to yet another God, one named ‘Jesus’ - a god who loves them and does miracles
to prove His love to them - they will easily switch parties and serve Him, the Greater God.
Americans don’t seem to have embraced a lack of faith so much as we have entertained the presence
of doubt. We have great faith for many things, it seems, but are quite lacking in the Divine Healing
department. I believe this doubt has come about as a result of all the other stuff we have come to
rely upon OTHER than Jesus.
On Earth as it is in Heaven
If you’re suffering, physically or emotionally, my advice is this: Get a second opinion, preferably
that of the God of the Bible. Though an earthly physician may hit you with a deadly word-curse
(diagnosis), our God says, “You were healed by the stripes of Jesus.” When Jesus taught His early
disciples to pray “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven,” He was
actually teaching them some things about the Kingdom. In essence, they were being taught that it
was right to desire that the things of Heaven be mirrored here on Earth as God’s Kingdom - His
dominion, exhibited through His disciples - comes upon the scene and changes lives. There is no
sickness, no sadness, no death in Heaven, by the way. Likewise, in Luke 10:9, Jesus told His
disciples, “Heal the sick, and tell them, ‘The Kingdom of God is near you now.’”
Is there a Doctor in the hut?!!’
In so many cultures throughout the ages, primitive communities have trusted the witch doctor, the
shaman, the sorcerer, for all their medical and even spiritual needs. There was a time, even in America,
when one went searching for a striped barber pole whenever they needed a haircut or a blood-letting.
Doctors were hard to come by and, even when they finally arrived on the American scene, most
doctors were quacks as no college degree was required for over a century after we became a nation.
I remember reading a book years ago in which there was a reprinted newspaper article about a man
who had died whose organs were to be transplanted into another man in another city. The article
detailed the time of the man’s death and described how he was wheeled out, nurses alongside, to a
waiting helicopter, I.V. and oxygen mask in tact. The story described how the second man’s life was
saved and what a glorious rescue had taken place. Nobody asked the question: If the first man was
pronounced dead, why was he hooked up to an I.V. and an oxygen mask? Why was he taking a
helicopter ride - all they needed was his organs. The answer is simple: his organs were harvested
later when he arrived at the second man’s hospital.
Who declared that this behavior was acceptable? Physicians, that’s who. The community witch doctor.
Now, I’m not saying that doctors are bad or that medicine is evil (my wife is an RN and I’ve stayed in
that hospital myself). In fact, I thank God for modern medicine, overall. My point is, as a whole, we
tend to accept what anyone with a PhD has to say about the condition of the bodies given to us by our
Father God. A nice Jewish doctor deduced that I had an incurable, hereditary spinal disease called
ankylosing spondilitis (A.S. for short) when I went to him with horrible back pain at age 28. He
prophesied that I would be in a nursing home by the time I was 50 and that my back would come to
resemble a bamboo pole. At age 39, I was walking with a cane. By age 40, I was looking into government
assistance and nursing home brochures. But by age 48, I laid 12 tons of rock around my home after
spending nearly 2 years remodeling the place. I’ll be 49 in December and feel strong as an ox! Two years
ago, I strained my back while sheetrocking a ceiling. After an X-ray, my doctor told me I had
“a textbook spine” and I was not to worry - the A.S. was NOT coming back. Glory to God!
Are you sick?
God is no respecter of persons. He favors no one over anyone else and ALL of us are His favorite
simultaneously. He is the giver of all good things; every good and perfect gift comes from Him. If you
need an egg, He won’t give you a scorpion. If you need healing in your body, be it unto you according
to your faith. Find some people who know God and understand that He desires to work through His
children to heal - quite often, literally, children. You may have to look OUTSIDE of your denomination
to receive this healing ministry. Oh, well, it’s STILL within the Body of Christ, right? You would be
amazed at the silly excuses I’ve heard from people who refrain from my invitation to receive healing
ministry… several times by ministers!
We have something we call “The Stephenville Prayer Clinic” which meets in my home on Thursday nights.
There we train people in Divine Healing ministry and minister to those who need healing - physical or
emotional. We’ve had people come from as far away as New Mexico and one couple who drove 140 miles
round trip each week on at least 10 occasions.
Are you sick? We’ll minister till you’re healed. You see, if part of The Body of Christ is sick, we’re ALL
sick. Come and see us. Make an appointment NOW for yourself or a loved one and let our Great God do
a miracle for you.
Every blessing,
Michael Tummillo
A servant of God
