These gatherings are second to none in terms of organization and the spiritual input and training are incredible. Dear Friends,

If you already get the weekly e-letter that comes from House2House you can ignore the rest of this note! But we wanted to be sure that those who have been to a H2H conference in the past are aware of the

National House Church conference in Dallas over the Labor Day weekend.

Do any of you getting this e-letter remember the wildly popular TV show from the 80’s and 90’s called The A Team? The Leader of the team was always saying, “I love it when a plan comes together.” That is the way that I feel about the National Conference for this year. When the three couples who helped to start House2House got together for a weekend near the beginning of the year, and to ask the Lord where do we go from here, one of the clear things that He said to us was to go ahead with a National Conference for this year. Well here it is!

Location: Hyatt Hotel in DFW airport.

Weekend: Labor Day weekend, which this year is August 29-31, with Labor Day being Sept 1st. But note, we are only going to have the conference through Sunday afternoon this year, rather than including Labor Day itself. So the main conference is from Friday evening, Aug 29 to Sunday 1 pm August 31st. The pre-conference day for network leaders and any others who care to join us runs from Thursday evening, Aug 28 to Friday 3 pm August 29th.

Teaching at different parts of the weekend will be handled by a team only the Lord could have brought together for us, as no-one was even asked until a couple of weeks ago, as we did not want to presume on any plans for this year until we knew we had the finances to follow through with those plans.

• Paul Young-Author of “The Shack”, which has taken the Christian world by storm over the past year

This is an extraordinary lineup that the Lord is providing. Any one of these folk is extremely well known in their own circles and is usually handling major conferences on their own. The Lord is giving each one of them to us for this year’s conference.

Major Themes: In praying towards the conference we felt that it needed to have a clear focus on the missional aspects of house church life. If we are to impact the world then

• How will we build Kingdom focused business to provide financial freedom in ministry?
• How do we bring Kingdom impact in the jobs that we have?
• How best do we touch the world outside of the United States?

Alongside this, we want to know how we deepen our fellowship with the Lord and with each other. Intimacy and relationship, with God first, and then with each other. What a wonderful mix this is going to be throughout the conference.

The Cost: will be substantially cheaper than in previous years! All registration rates are down, with the price for kids having been cut drastically. We are able to do this by three primary means

• The hotel is less expensive, and involves no travel away from the airport, so for those who fly in there will be no car hire cost. Breakfast is included in the conference cost. Bring a box lunch if you want to save money! Lots of reasonably priced fast food places are available in the airport itself.
• The conference will be one day shorter, saving the cost of the extra night in the hotel
• Speaker travel and honorarium costs are being defrayed by a variety of means, but mainly by getting sponsors to specifically help with these costs, rather than including all of the costs in the registration fees. All speakers have also agreed to come for nominal remuneration. We need to honor them in the Lord, but none have insisted on this being substantial. We are looking for sponsors to help us make this as generous as possible.

The Challenge: We need to pack the place out to make this work, and to maximize the impact of the conference through the lives of all who come and are touched by what the Lord is doing. We have no advertising budget per se, and that means each of us need to pass on this information and the website links to as many possible attendees as possible. Can you help us do this? Here are a couple of suggestions that may help.

• Plan to come as a whole home church, including the children. The Tasch?s will be with us again this year, and every year they are outstanding in all that the do for and teach the kids. Use this as an opportunity for the whole home church to move forward. Plan giving and saving now to help every member who want to come to be able to come.
• Invite others who you know are interested to explore home church life to come with you.
• Send out this invitation to any other groups that you know, both in your area, and around the country. Let?s create a buzz about what we can learn together through this time.
