Ministry by phone: It’s for you!
I’m thoroughly convinced that God allowed mankind to invent such things as telephones, computers, TV’s and radio for the propagation of the Gospel. I mean it! Why, I’ve even used the United States Postal Service to spread the Good News to total strangers, having sent handmade fliers to every Middle-eastern name in the Arlington, Texas phone book all the way up to the letter “K”. In fact, a friend of mine - a 90-pound man whose limbs are twisted with rheumatoid arthritis - felt led to buy my stamps. Oddly enough, there I was, using a cane in those days.
Not bad for two cripples, eh?
Years earlier, I was part of something known as the “Care Ministry” in our 2,000-Member megachurch. One of the things I volunteered to do was to make telephone contact with everyone who completed a “visitor” slip when they attended our church. As a single man, I thought this to be an excellent use of my time. What an incredible blessing that ministry was! I found that so many people needed personal prayer and encouragement. Invariably, I was told that my timing was perfect.
Incidentally, our church Membership increased by 1500 people in 5 months.
Many years later, I met a man in a wheelchair who would spend his evenings cold-calling people out of the phone book. He demonstrated his technique for our church one Wednesday night. Powerful!
Along comes Bob Fitts into my life, Labor Day 2006 in Denver. In time, we became good friends. He eventually introduced me to his ministry called Outreach Fellowship International (OFI). His vision was to establish at least one person in each of our fifty states and assign each person as a coach, mentor, discipler…watever you want to call it…to ministers in each of 200 other nations. As time has progressed, and as God would have it, I am now mentoring 24 men and women from 10 different nations. One of these men, a joyful young man named Sabila Adams, recently told a Ugandan minister about my willingness to minister by telephone. Early last Sunday morning, I ministered at 3 AM and 5:30 AM to a crowd in Uganda and our God did many wonderful things.
Today, Sabila Adams sent an eMail report to me regarding that conference. I pray that it blesses you and, perhaps, encourages you to get out a local phone book and make a few calls at random tonight. Here’s the glorious report from Uganda:
It was a great honor to have you minister through the first day of the conference. Lives where transformed from the heart level by the presence of God. I can not hide my joy for what He did in the conference.
How I wish to inform you of everything, I don’t know how to begin… I was so humbled by the response of the people of Uganda… There was heavy rain prior to the conference which extended untill morning. People came while raining and through slippery muddy paths…The phone conference brought together pastors, Evangelists, church leaders, saints and children from [all] denominations…Eastern Uganda, like the other regions of the world, walk far bellow their dominion mandate, the very land that calls forth for righteousness, Revival, Healing and liberation in these days. With that in mind, God brings His word through you, brother Tummillo, to encourage and exhort the land to rise up as kings and priest of the highest God to advance the Kingdom. Surely God has desired an open heaven over this land of the Sebei community who live as nomads’ mixed with Bantus and other minor tribes so that His glory may rule and reign from His throne that is established in the midst of His people.,,
After the first session on phone, the atmosphere changed. Many were encouraged as their veils of traditions, cultures, religion were removed.
Every one was praising the lord for Him advancing His kingdom to the Sebei community. There was thanksgiving and praises in the whole building which was tangible. I saw every one turning to each other with their first slogans of the day: “I am a king” and “I look like Jesus” as they hugged each other in love.
Testimonies:
One pastor confessed and asked God for forgiveness because he had refused his church to attend the conference simply because it was a different denomination and the phone ministry was not true. However, when he heard the sound system, because we had amplified your preaching on the microphone, he came to see. He was disarmed by the active presence of God as you ministered; he said your words and voice came forth from your lips proceeding from a pure source with power resident in Gods word which touched his heart. He could not control his tears as he wept and said “Lord forgive me.” He said he had been convincing saints to join his church rather than converting sinners to Christ. Later he came back during the second session with some of his flock.
One woman constantly wept tears of Joy when she was repeating after you. She said she was abused when she was a young girl by her relatives. But now she knows clearly that she looks like Jesus. She forgave all those who hurt her in the past. Praise God!
When we proceeded to the second session, which came after two hours due to people going for lunch because we did not have food in the conference, others did not go, they remain in the building while praying and enjoying the contusive atmosphere of the Holy Spirit.
The second service was packed to the fullest. As you began ministering and giving prophesy for Uganda, true revival began to be manifested. During worship, three ladies began speaking in tongues and worshiping the lord. Some sang, one woman began laughing uncontrollably while jumping. The laughter spread like fire and the whole meeting was bursting in laughter and singing. During the process, one lady was healed from ulcers, another abdominals pain; another man was healed from pain in his Ribs. I am sorry because I did not take the pictures due to the heavy anointing that was moving, I was also caught in the process and enjoyed laughing in the Holy Ghost.
My blood father came during the second session. He has lived as an alcoholic for 40 years. I have been praying for him for many years to come to Christ, but God was waiting his appointed time. You talked of how parents should rule their homes, in love like a Christian king and like Christ to the church. When you finished ministering, and you where talking with me outside, I heard people shouting in the building. My dad had stood and confessed how irresponsible king he has been to his kingdom. He gave his life to Jesus. Indeed this is the greatest testimony I have ever reported.
What can I say, many miracles took place and many went home completely healed. The spiritual atmosphere in the land is destined to be created and maintained as Christ the Hope of Glory. The people of God, set a part for His purposes, have been given dominion to spread out, enlarge and go forth.
They have been enlightened that dominion (kingship) flows from our position in Christ. This starts with the revelation within themselves as individuals in their hearts with the power of Christ in them as the Hope of Glory. These truly begins to happen here in the land of the Sebei community and God desires that it happened to change and bring it out of bonds of oppression into the clear atmosphere of liberty and Joy in the Holy Ghost.
God bless you servant of God.
My heart is at home with Jesus!!!
Your brother and fellow friend in the ministry,
Sabila Adams
REMEMBER, God used a Texas telephone to accomplish these wonderous things. They have those where YOU live as well.
By the way, I taught on “The Kingdom” as well as “King of Kings.” I read, almost word for word, two teachings I had previously broadcast by eMail. You can read these teachings here:
KING OF KINGS: IT’S NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT MEANS
Every blessing,
Michael Tummillo
A servant of God
