Remember our Warriors.

Regardless of how you feel about the war in Iraq, please pray and support the men and women “over there,” Americans and our allies. My sister, Lynda, an army Colonel’s wife, just sent this li’l reminder. I needed it. Please pass it on, right after you pray.

Every blessing,

Michael

TGI-Wednesday!

It’s time we Christians get over what we commonly refer to as “hump day.” Are we excited about Wednesday because we’re half way through with a dismal work week, or excited because we’re that much closer to the weekend and an opportunity to “refuel” in preparation for what God has planned for us NEXT week at work?

Work is not a bad thing. It is, after all, is a blessing from God.

A brief letter sure to bless

The following letter was forwarded to me from David Servant’s ministry, written from Timotheo in Kenya amidst all the recent civil unrest there. It really blessed me! I think it shows how effective House Churches CAN be if only we can get away from our “living room liturgies” and man-made and even demonically-inspired doctrine within the House Church movement. I refuse to believe that The Church was ever intended to merely share an hour or so each week staring at the backs of eachother’s heads and listening to one man’s opinion on matters of faith. No, we are to share our lives as a warring clan. When we gather, we can dialogue on the things of God while exercising our spiritual gifts, everybody bringing something, not merely coming “to be fed.” These Kenyan brethren have learned that “The Church” isn’t somewhere we go; it’s something we are. Here’s Timotheo:

TGIM!

Thank God it’s Monday! This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Years ago, I was asked to speak at a civic function. At one point in my presentation, I recall saying, “If the only reason you get up in the morning is to advance your career, pay your bills, or buy more stuff, you might as well put a bullet in your head right now…God has a plan and a purpose for you that’s so much greater than you can imagine and He wants to work with you in your job to accomplish His purposes…” As crude as that may have sounded (it’s amazing what one will say under the anointing), the message hit home. Afterward, I received quite a few handshakes positive comments and one man even whispered, “I almost shouted ‘amen’!” Following is a Monday morning prayer I’d like you to print and post and pray at the start of every week. Heck, pray it every day! I’m sure it will bless you: Thank you, Father, for the gift of life. Thank you that, because I am alive, it’s obvious you have a plan and a purpose for me. Thank you that I woke up in the United States for I had nothing to do with where I was born. Show me what it is you require of me - one who has been blessed with all these freedoms. Thank you that I walk in Divine Health and that the supernatural is becoming natural for me as I minister healing to others. Thank you that I walk in Divine protection and that no weapon forged against me will prosper. Thank you that I walk in Divine authority for Jesus has given me all authority over all the powers of darkness. Thank you for Divine appointments, opportunities to encourage, enlighten and empower others with the words of my mouth. Let me speak life into dying situations, seeing things as YOU would see them. Thank you for sending into my life today a person of peace - one who will receive my message and ministry; one who will link up with me to pray and help to change the atmosphere of our company and community. Thank you for being concerned about all that concerns me. I pray that YOUR concerns - the concerns of my King - will become of paramount importance to me as my mind and spirit are renewed by your Word. Thank you for my job. Bless my employers and supervisors and coworkers with the greatest blessing anyone could ever ask for: an ever-deepening relationship with Jesus. I declare that Jesus is Lord - the owner - of everything INCLUDING my workplace! Thank you, Lord. Amen!

Blessed to be a blessing

Previously, I mentioned how God moved mightly last Sunday morning at 3:00 and 5:30 AM as I preached in Uganda via telephone. The man who translated and organized the TeleConference is named Sabila Adams and I am surprised how many American Christians know and appreciate this man! We became acquainted through the Robert Fitts organization, Outreach Fellowship International. Following is a message from Sabila. Thank you for praying after you read it.

Every blessing,

Michael Tummillo

Sign of the time. Time for this sign.

There are many signs of the times and those with eyes to see and ears

to hear can tell that something’s somehow “different” at this stage of the game.

I received an eMail today with the following sign included in the message. I

couldn’t help but feel that the day is coming when more and more Christians

are going to question the meaningless phrase “going to church.” After all, how

can we GO to that which we ARE?

After seeing this sign, I thought, “How appropriate it will be for masses of

Ministry by phone: It’s for you!

I’m thoroughly convinced that God allowed mankind to invent such things as telephones, computers, TV’s and radio for the propagation of the Gospel. I mean it! Why, I’ve even used the United States Postal Service to spread the Good News to total strangers, having sent handmade fliers to every Middle-eastern name in the Arlington, Texas phone book all the way up to the letter “K”. In fact, a friend of mine - a 90-pound man whose limbs are twisted with rheumatoid arthritis - felt led to buy my stamps. Oddly enough, there I was, using a cane in those days.

Sawubona, y’all!

I learned something interesting a few weeks ago, something that has served me very well that I hope will e a blessing to you, too.

In Africa, the Zulu people greet one another with the word, “Sawubona,” a word used to say “Hello” but literally means
“I see you!” and is used to say Good Morning, Good Evening and
Good Afternoon.

“I see you!”

How would that make you feel if everywhere you went…every party, every gathering of people, every business meeting, every church gathering…you were greeted with, “Hey, I see you!”

Report on Uganda TeleConference

As scheduled, I received a phone call from Sabila Adams, a Kenyan minister, at about 2AM in Texas on Friday night. It was daytime there. I had received an eMail from a Pastor Lawrance Bukose from Bukwo district, Uganda on Januaruy 10th. He wrote, “Receive my special invitation to minister on phone in our conference which is due on 19th to 20th this month. Mr Sabila informed me more about you and how God is using you through deliverance, teaching and discipleship trainings. We, the people of Bukwo churches, all denominations, would be highly honored to have you minister to us on the phone…”

More on Stephenville’s UFO Show

Lately, there’s been a great deal of talk regarding the recent UFO sightings in my hometown of Stephenville. Personally, I’ve noticed an increase in Air Traffic, not to mention news vans from places like Fox Television. I’m not the only one to notice those things either. From the local newspaper to the BBC and Good Morning America on TV yesterday, Stephenville’s suddenly on the map of the world.

Sunday, Sunday

It’s amazing to me how many Christians are still of the “Sunday only” mindset. Even within the supposedly-radical Simple Church ranks, it seems that, in the minds of some, spiritual activity Monday through Saturday really doesn’t count for much UNLESS the gathering is on a Sunday. In some cases, some within Simple Church ranks even feel inclined to seat themselves in a traditional church’s pew on that particular day in order to fulfill some sort of deeply ingrained obligation.

UFO’s in Texas?

In July, 2006, Good Morning America (GMA) reported that my hometown of Stephenville, Texas was one of the Top Ten towns in America to move to. Stephenville has twice been recognized as one of the “100 Best Small Towns in America.” This morning, GMA reported on the dozens of UFO sightings that were reported in and around Stephenville, one just a mile from my cabin in the woods. The number one email I’m receiving the past three days has the letters “UFO” in the Subject Bar.

Yikes! We could become another Roswell! That could be great news for the Chamber of Commerce!

Jesus the Sinner Magnet

A man named Tom Wymore wrote on his blog that Jesus was a “Sinner Magnet.”

I like that. Well said, Tom.

Sinners simply loved Jesus. Ever wonder why? He DID turn water into wine at parties. The Pharisees snarled, “This man is a friend of sinners…and he eats with them!”

I think Jesus - undoubtedly a spiritual person to say the least - simply “sounded” different to the sinners He encountered. He wasn’t judgmental. He didn’t tell them they were going to Hell. He loved them and healed them and ministered to their needs.

UPDATE: KENYA

Though the shooting, killing and burning has stopped, thanks to our God, there remain many displaced Kenyans, brothers and sisters who have lost everything - including loved ones - during the recent civil unrest.

A fellow minister named Benedict writes requesting aid. He said: “May God bless you for standing with us for prayers. Right now the stuation is bad, Michael. Yes we have returned back in our homes but we are challenged due to lack of something in the pocket to buy food. Please send to me anything that you  have.”

PRayer support requested: KENYA

A dear brother from Kenya, a man named Gideon, has just written me regarding the terrible civil unrest that’s been taking place there in recent days.

He has asked that I request your prayers for this nation. Others from Kenya are also pleading that we pray. Surely, you have heard about this on the  news.

Gideon writes:

“Dear Brother Mike, Thanks so much for joining us in prayers for this nation. Truly, much has happened that was not expected. Our politians have betrayed us in unbelievable way. Kenya has been the most peaceful and democratic nation in the whole of Africa.

The Starfish and the Spider

Have you read, or even heard of, a book entitled “The Starfish and the Spider”? Though it’s not considered a “Christian” book, the concept is certainly worthy of every Christian’s consideration - especially those involved in, considering, or concerned about, the starfish-like Simple Church/House Church/Organic Church movement.

From the book’s jacket, the picture begins to develop:

“If you cut off a spider’s head, it dies; if you cut off a starfish’s leg it grows a new one, and that leg can grow into an entirely new starfish. Traditional top-down organizations are like spiders, but now starfish organizations are changing the face of business and the world [including The Church].

Where are my accusers?

In recent years, I have been accused of being anti-Church or “against the local Church.” Recently, this accusing beast reared its ugly head in my life once again and I’ve chosen to address this concern, hopefully, once and for all.

There is a giant that’s been awakening in the Western world - a giant whose elder brother has already been stirring across the sea in 3rd world nations for decades. This giant is called “The Church.” Though the term may conjure up images of Gothic cathedrals, glass-covered MegaChurches, or white, wooden chapels with steeples nestled in the woods, I’m not referring to the Institutional, Traditional, Denominational, or Legacy church buildings and manmade religious organizations that can be found on every street corner. I MAY be referring to many of those who have affiliated themselves with those institutions, however, though certainly NOT all who warm a bench there.

The Dash…it is Awesome

In July 2006, a short 3-minute movie was launched on the Internet called “The Dash.”  Since then, over 40 million people from around the world have watched it; and over 20,000 a day continue to watch it as a result of people passing it along.

The movie has been more successful than anyone ever imagined. More importantly, however, it has inspired many, many people to reflect on their lives and ask that all important question, ‘Are my priorities where they should be?’

I hope you enjoy this movie and share it with those who are close to you.
