Texas Chaplain gets down to Business

(Stephenville, TX) - Mike Tummillo has been very busy since leaving hispost as Marketing Director for the Stephenville Chamber of Commerce.
After 5 successful years with that award-winning organization, even
serving as Interim President, Mike was lured away to serve Pyramid
HealthCare of Texas as that organization’s Workplace Chaplain to
minister to their 500 employees located in ten Texas facilities from
Paris to Hillsboro, Baird to Grand Saline. Nearly 38,000 miles and 11
months later, he believes God gave him an idea.

“Workplace Chaplains are a growing trend throughout corporate America
right now,” he said. “It’s estimated there are 4,000 nationwide but, by
decade’s end, there could be over 20,000…Companies are seeing the
benefit of catering not only to a person’s physical and monetary needs
on the job, but their spiritual needs as well. It’s something I
longed to do ever since meeting the Chaplain for Gerber Baby Foods 15
years ago in Arlington, Texas.”

After recently speaking to the 150-member San Antonio Christian
Business Chamber of Commerce, the 25-year AdBiz veteran decided to
launch a similar organization in his own hometown of Stephenville. “We
had so much success locally with something I called the “Brown Bag
Bible Study” a couple of years back, after witnessing the San Antonio
group, I saw them as being not so much a business organization - like
a Chamber - but a Christian fellowship. The atmosphere was electric

there. I want to see that everywhere among our nation’s labor force.”

Tummillo will kick off the organization in true marketing form
by testing the market. “If there’s an interest-level, we’re moving
forward!”

Those interested in establishing a local chapter of “Christians@Work
in their OWN community are invited to call Tummillo at 214.476.8792 or
eMail him at team1min@our-town.com.
