Gideon’s 300
Please read the following letter from our Brother Gideon in Africa. If the Spirit moves your heart, as He has mine, let us sow into this fertile mission field. I believe there are at least 300 people who can send at least $5 RIGHT NOW via www.PayPal.com. I’ve “westernized” his letter for ease of reading. Please respond if you are interested in helping. My chiropractor recently sent me $400. When I asked him why he gave two reasons: 1) He trusted me to do God’s will with it. 2) He needed a blessing; he understands reaping ands owing. Gideon writes:
Dear Servant of God, Mike
Indeed it is a blessing that God has united us together for the glory of His own name. I have been so much praying and trusting God to give a mentor, somebody that we will greatly work together and be more of a father to me. Most of us here in Kenya have never had good
ministry training, though we are doing a lot but it is just by grace that we are able to do what we are doing. But through you I feel God training me and leading me to be more effective in Ministry and even touch more souls around the world. My heart has been to do the following: Orphanage and Feeding programs,Evangelism, Training and Discipleship, Church planting in the Villages. God called me and have been serving in the above since 1999, We have so much struggled but we thank God that He has seen us through.
…The Lord has put in upon my heart to take care of the orphans as well as feeding and clothing the poor. I believe God has a reason for everybody and He loves children. If we do not give them the opportunity we may end up loosing the great leaders of the future. I have adopted four children who are orphans in my house, I also help feed several children in the Community. I am asking for your prayers and support that we may help do the following for the children who are orphans and comes from the poor families.
…Apart from helping children, we also move to help the widows and poor especially those affected and displaced by floods, those heat by famine and disaster that occurs. The major need has also been to establish the Mobile clinics as people are very far from the hospitals. and there are no vehicles to take them especially at night not yet in the villages. As many people claim that the every place [on earth] is reached, it is not yet so in Africa. People are only concentrating on the towns and urban centers but people in the villages are suffering. We have been facing challenges as we visit this places to do the house to house evangelism, this is where by we group 3 or 4 people and begin going in the house of people to share with them the Word as well as distributing tracts.
Open air meetings, this is where we construct the platform and invite many people to come and we minister to them. With this kind of Evangelism we have faced the problem of transportation as we walk for very long distances, some time walk as long as 30 miles before we reach the destination. While walking we are rained on along the way, walk through mud. It is for this reason that we ask for your prayers to buy the Motorbikes, and if possible the car for transporting us for evangelism. We also Pray that God provides the Sound System that we will use it to address the gatherings in the villages and the Video projector to be showing the film of the Passion of Christ and other helpful and compelling films. We also need more bibles for the new converts.
I strongly believe that no man can do alone. We all need the help of each other, and we are so productive if we multiply and produce more. It is for this reason that I feel good to train and disciple people to walk more in the field. It is therefore my heart that God supplies for us to start a skills training program which can help the youths. This will reduce the high rate of youths getting involved in crimes and Immorality as they will have something to train and do to earn their living given that the jobs here in Africa are so scarce. We therefore pray training the tailoring, mechanics, computer skills, farming etc. This is something that I so much enjoy, given that it is almost only sects that are in the villages. Church planting especially in the homes and schools is so effective.
