A friend of mine, Robert Fitts (His son wrote the song “Blessed be the Name of the Lord”), mentioned to me a ministry in China that needs help. It seems Rick Warren’s “Purpose Driven Life” has the government’s stamp of approval somehow. Anyone with a camera and microphone on their computer can legally teach a class to Chinese students who desire to learn English. Robert has done this himself and said he could see and hear them but they couldn’t see him. He spent 45 minutes telling them how words are pronounced and giving Christian input as they went. He found it very enjoyable and was surprised at how well many already spoke the English language (learning English is mandatory there). THE GOOD NEWS: Robert’s friend, Les, who runs the ministry, reports that 80% of the students who are learning English by reading this book actually become Christians! I requested detailed information from Les and he has provided it. This ministry needs financial support as well so, if many people sent a little, they’d be very grateful (50 people @ $10 ea would cover it). It costs about $2,400 to setup and run a classroom for a year. Les said one of the really high points was when the students who use this e-classroom told Les that they didn’t need any money for the rent and expenses that month because the newly-converted Christian students had been tithing and they had paid enough money to cover all the expenses. Are you interested? Let’s take advantage of these opportunities! Hit REPLY and type “CHINA” in your Subject Bar and I’ll send the information along. Every blessing, Michael Tummillo A servant of God |
